As someone who values efficiency, productivity, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance, I've established a routine that works for both me and my clients. Let me provide insights into my core working hours, the unique way I structure my Friday's, and how I manage client communications during this time.
Core Working Hours: Monday - Thursday / 8am - 4:30pm
I'm fully immersed in client projects from 8am until 4:30pm each week, Monday to Thursday. These core working hours are dedicated to client collaborations, meetings, and the focused execution of tasks. By setting specific working hours, I ensure that I'm consistently available to clients during predictable time slots, fostering effective communication and project progress.
Friday's: Reserved for Non-Client Work
Rather than diving into client-related tasks, Friday's are allocated exclusively for working on the business itself. This means I can dedicate time to administrative tasks, strategic planning, and other activities that contribute to the growth and sustainability of my freelancing endeavours.
Stewart has been my go to dev since 2011. His knowledge in Shopify development is second to none. He has helped us take our eCommerce business to the next level and is always quick to help when we need it. Highly recommended.

1. Business Development
Friday's offer an ideal opportunity to concentrate on business development, whether it's researching new opportunities, updating my portfolio, or exploring potential collaborations, with the goal of enhancing and expanding my freelance web development business.
2. Administrative Tasks
Acknowledging the importance of administrative tasks in freelancing, Friday's are dedicated to responsibilities such as invoicing, record updates, and file organization, ensuring the seamless operation of web development business processes.
3. Professional Development
Continuous learning is integral to a successful freelancing career. Friday's provide the chance to invest in professional development, through activities such as online courses, participation in webinars, or staying abreast of industry publications to remain informed about the latest trends in web development.
Managing Email Communications
Given the focus on non-client work on Friday's, it's essential to note that email responses may experience a slight delay compared to the rest of the week. While commitment to efficient communication remains steadfast, understanding is appreciated should responses take a little longer.
In Summary
Freelancing as a web developer extends beyond delivering high-quality client work; it involves building and sustaining a thriving business.
